CONSTELLATION AT RTAA
Founder & Instructor: Dr. Samantha Auman
Musical Director: Jennifer Vaughn
Choreographer: Topeka Vaughn
Constellation theater is a children’s theater program supporting children with autism. Every year, in partnership with Roseville Theater Arts Academy, Constellation Theater enrolls 15 to 20 children with autism between the ages of 7-16 and 15-20 of their typically developing peers to participate in a musical theater workshop. The children work together to rehearse and then perform a musical theater production. Our goals are to create autism awareness in our community, a sense of advocacy in our typically developing peers, and offer opportunities to improve social skills and self-confidence in children on the autism spectrum. So many of the families of children on the autism spectrum spend a huge amount of time and money on therapies. They have very few opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, like their typically developing peers, where they get to sit back, get a break and watch their child blossom.
If you are interested in donating or becoming a sponsor of the Constellation Theatre program, please contact Megan Hoyt (megan@rosevilletheatre.org) for more information.
Our next Constellation workshop will begin in June 2025.
