It's Gala Audition time again! Auditions for Roseville Theatre Arts Academy's 4th Annual Champagne Gala are September 14th at 1:00. We'd like you to audition with 32 bars of a solo, or grab a friend and make it a duet, trio, quartet, quintet (you get the point) that you'd like to perform...or perhaps have performed and want to resurrect. We're looking for talented quick studies who are ready to make a beautiful night for our audience and want to include your creativity in the process if it fits with our vision.

Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. Seussical is fun for the whole family!

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.

The Music Man Dance Audition Prep Class!

This workshop will teach you techniques to better prepare you for dance auditions for RTAA’s production of The Music Man. Workshop will include: a physical warm-up, conditioning, and learning sections of choreography from the show. Be ready to work hard and have a lot of fun!
